JT Rootbeer

Vanilla aroma with accents of licorice and spice. Finishes with a refreshing, citrus undertone.

PREP TIME: 15 Min.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. coriander
  • ½ of one star anise
  • ¼ cup of orange zest
  • Fermented kombucha

Materials:

  • 32 oz. glass mason jar
  • Funnel
  • Mesh strainer

Directions:

  1. Place funnel on top of jar opening.
  2. Place mesh strainer on top of funnel.
  3. Pour fermented kombucha into the jar. Leave 2 in. headspace.
  4. Add 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract to jar. 
  5. Add 1/2 tsp. cinnamon to jar.
  6. Add ½ tsp. coriander to jar.
  7. Add ½ of 1 star anise to jar.
  8. Add ¼ cup of orange zest to jar.
  9. Close lid and allow the kombucha to ferment for 1-4 days.
  10. Store jar in a cool place.
  11. After 1-4 days, place finished jar in refrigerator to slow second fermentation.
  12. Enjoy!
